MHKDesigner Inspiration: Julie

Hello, and happy hump day, my crafty friends.  It's Julie with you today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.   My husband and I have a new puppy, so my thoughts seem to be quickly turning towards dog-themed cards these days.  Here's one I recently created:

I used 2 MHKDesigns digital stamp sets to make this simple card, and one MHKDesigns digital paper.  I started with the I've Been Framed digital stamp set, then nestled a sentiment from the Fur & Paws Digital Stamp Set inside the frame.  The paw print designer paper is from the Pawsitively Purrfect Digital Paper Pack.

Have you joined the MHKDesigns challenge yet this month?  It's anything goes as long as you use an MHKDesigns image. You still have plenty of time!

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Shawna

Hello All,

Today I am going to show you some inspiration for your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The background was done using the shaving cream technique.
I actually did this background about two years ago and was looking for the perfect project to display it and then thought of using my MHKDesigns stamps! I think it turned out beautifully.

MHKDesigns vintage images work so well with each other.

I invite you to check out her Etsy store and see for yourself
the versatility of stamp sets and the variety of digital papers we have to offer
______________________________

I decided to leave the the MHKDesigns image uncolored as to not compete with the background. In fact, I feel leaving it uncolored allows it to pop only adding to design's beauty.
I love the leaves overlapping the die cut sentiment.
It adds the perfect amount of detail.
Since you are here, I encourage you to browse our blog and see more inventive ideas from our design team. It is our hope that you can play along with our monthly challenge. If not, just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

There is a lot more to discover at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Stop on over and see what we have to offer. It is certain to spark the imagination. So, thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon. Take care and happy crafting.

All the best,

MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

This month I wanted to show you a selection of seasonal cards made with the same image from MHK Designs in a range of different colours.
I have to confess that I used to think digital images were just to be printed and coloured, Oh how wrong I was!
If you have time to play around with them using a photo package you can achieve so much more. Now I am not what I would call computer savvy, but through trial and error (non of them serious) I have learnt a little, with the help of YouTube tutorials by our very own Mynn and advice from friends I am slowly progressing. This makes digital images and papers SO much more useful and very good value for money.
After selecting my image I used my photo package to change the colours. This was done by sliding the Hue/Saturation scale, found under the heading Adjustments, up or down. Each time I saw a colour change I liked I saved it with a slightly different name and then continued until I had five variations and my original.
Using an oval die I cut them out and then coloured the edges with ink to draw the eye to the image.
The sentiment plaque in the image has rounded edges so I used a corner rounder to make my card blank match. The edges of the card are coloured to match the image panel, with small holly corners painted with the same ink the base card was finished.
A mirri mat layer under the image panel lifts the card giving it a little Christmas shine, it's mounted on foam pads to add a little more interest to a basic vintage effect card.

Christmas Frames
I hope this has inspired you to go and play with your MHK Designs images to see what you can do with them. You can enter our challenge with your results, we'd love to see them.

MHDesigner Inspiration: Mynn Kitchen - Digital Emboss Resist Tutorial!

Hi, friends! I hope your August went well! I've got another creation to share with you today that uses products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop--and it's completely ONE LAYER! I have a video tutorial on my YouTube station on how to create this card and the digital emboss resist effect, so head over there to check that, too! Here's my completed card...

This card uses an image and sentiment from the beautiful Mum's the Word digital stamp setI used Photoshop to create the watercolor/emboss resist feel and to layer the elements. The colors are inspired by the upcoming autumn season here in the Northern Hemisphere. :)

After printing the card, all I did was round the corners for a finishing touch. I really adore the way this turned out and hope you like it, too! I would love for you to leave me your thoughts in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, friends! Thank you so much for stopping by! I always love to hear from you, so please do let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Don't forget to join in our *NEW* challenge tomorrow for your chance at winning some digital goodies from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Until next time, HUGS and happy {digital} stamping, friends!
